Lapco International have successfully delivered a Train the Trainers course for minimally invasive surgeons supported by Medtronic at their training centre in Istanbul.
The two-day course was attended by 14 Laparoscopic Surgeons from countries including Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Senegal, Egypt, Serbia and Slovenia.
The course aims to enhance the training abilities of surgeons over two days. Day 1 includes interactive sessions such as: conscious competence, dealing with the difficult trainee, performance enhancing instruction, dual task interference and competency and assessment. During 2, the delegates put their training and assessment skills into practice through a live mentoring session in a laboratory involving trainees with limited experience of surgery.
Tom Cecil, Lapco founder and Faculty commented: “It is very rewarding to see the impact of the course on the development of surgical trainers and their ability to develop even the most inexperienced trainees by the end of day 2.”
Dr Edvinas Dainius from Lithuania rated the course as ‘Excellent’ and said: “The information was enough, the teaching was great, the teachers were amazing”
