Lapco Consultancy have successfully delivered a series of Train the Trainer (TT) courses with CMR Surgical during May, June and July 2021.
18 robotic surgeons attended a two-day ‘Lapco Versius Train the Trainer course’- a bespoke version of the Lapco TT course – which aims to improve the training skills of surgical trainers to support safe adoption of minimal access (Robotic) surgery.
The course delegates were surgeons who use CMR’s Versius® – a next-generation surgical robotic system which has been adopted across a range of surgical specialties including Gynaecology, Colorectal, and General Surgery, and used to perform over 1,000 surgical procedures across India and Europe.
Day 1 was comprised of multiple interactive sessions focusing on: conscious competence; communication and human factors; dealing with the difficult trainee; performance enhancing instruction; duel task interference and competence and assessment. On day 2, the delegates were able to practice their skills through a ‘live mentoring’ session.
Lapco Founder and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon Mark Coleman said: “We are delighted to receive such positive feedback following a first series of courses with CMR Surgical and look forward to continuing our work on a global scale.”
